Kmart is Stepping Out to Fight Diabetes
Kmart Pharmacy has once again joined forces with the American Diabetes Association (ADA)
Kmart Pharmacy has once again joined forces with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to educate Americans on the treatment and prevention of diabetes. There are nearly 24 million children and adults in the U.S. living with diabetes, and the number keeps rising. As part of our commitment to helping the communities in which we live and work, Kmart Pharmacy is dedicated to assisting the ADA in their mission to prevent and cure diabetes and
to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
Last year, Kmart customers, families and friends contributed more than $500,000 to the ADA during an in-store fundraiser. Additionally, Kmart customers and associates have made an impact on diabetes awareness by walking for a cure in “Step Out:
Walk to Fight Diabetes,” the ADA's signature fund-raising event which takes place in nearly 200 communities nationwide. In 2008, Kmart Pharmacy hopes to raise even more money with customer and associate participation through Kmart walk teams and its in-store fund-raising program.
